Detectives are searching for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run in Victorville Saturday.
Victorville deputies responded to the crash on Bear Valley Road, just west of Mesa View Drive, shortly before 1 a.m.
The victim, identified only as an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation determined that the suspect was driving west on Bear Valley Road and struck the man as he was crossing the street, authorities said.
The driver fled the area and did not stop to check on the injured victim. No vehicle description was provided as investigators work to develop suspect leads.
