A Loma Linda doctor had her nose broken by a transient who punched her in the face after a disagreement regarding his medical care, Sheriff’s officials said Friday.
Oscar A. Ruvalcaba, 29, was talking to a physician at Loma Linda University Medical Center on Tuesday when he became agitated about his medical status at the hospital and began to threaten her, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.
Ruvalcaba, described as a transient, allegedly threatened to kill the physician and her entire family, then got up from his chair and punched her one time in the face with his fist.
The doctor’s nose was fractured in two places due to the punch, the Sheriff’s Department stated.
Ruvalcaba was arrested on suspicion of battery upon a physician, battery with serious injuries and terrorist threats, according to the news release.
The doctor was treated at the hospital and released.
